¿Qué es el "Día de acción de gracias"? THANKSGIVING'S DAY

Se celebra el último jueves del mes de Noviembre y es una celebración en muchos lugares angloparlantes. Vamos a ver un par de vídeos para comprenderlo mejor y más tarde lo hablaremos en clase. Por eso en la clase de quinto hemos hacho unos recortes con la frase:
I'm thankful for..... que hemos completado con alguna cosa por la que damos gracias. Haremos unas cadenas con ellas y las colgaremos en el cole.

He often wears green training clothes. He likes wearing modern outfits.
He can play football and he likes spending time with his friends and family; he is also interested in fashion. He enjoys going out for coffee and dinner, and relaxing at home when he can. He hates driving because he hasn´t got a car licence.
His favourite subject is sociology; his favourite food is baked beans and eggs; his favourite sport is football.
He likes buying expensive clothes and eating in exclusive restaurants. He can´t stand being insulted.
He would like to travel around the world. When he was a little child, he wanted to be a professional football player.

Trabalenguas gracioso - Funny tongue tiwster

La frase completa es un trabalenguas en inglés sobre la pronunciación de palabras similares: "Two witches watch two watches, which witch watches which watch?". La respuesta es que cada bruja mira el reloj que pertenece a la otra bruja.

Two witches = dos brujas
watch two watches = vigilan dos relojes
Which witch = ¿cuál bruja?watches which watch = vigila cuál reloj

¿Por qué el INGLÉS es el IDIOMA UNIVERSAL?

¿Sabías que hay un idioma que ayuda a personas de muchos países a entenderse aunque cada una hable una lengua diferente? Ese idioma es el Inglés. Hoy lo usamos para viajar, para jugar online, para ver vídeos y para hablar con gente de todo el mundo. No es magia: durante muchos años países donde se hablaba inglés exploraron, comerciaron y compartieron música, ciencia y tecnología, y por eso cada vez más personas lo aprendieron como segunda lengua. Ahora el inglés funciona como un “puente” que nos conecta y nos abre puertas para aprender, hacer amigos y descubrir cosas nuevas. Aquí te dejo un vídeo que lo explica súper bien. ;)

¿No os habéis preguntado nunca, por qué no se lee el Inglés igual que se escribe?

EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES

The European Day of Languages is celebrated every year on 26 September. 🌍📚

It was established by the Council of Europe in 2001, during the European Year of Languages, and has been celebrated annually ever since.

🎯 Main objectives

Promote language learning at all ages.
Celebrate cultural and linguistic diversity in Europe (there are more than 200 European languages!).
Encourage multilingualism, showing that speaking several languages improves communication, job opportunities, and intercultural understanding.

Europe is home to 24 official EU languages and many regional/minority ones.
More than 60 regional or minority languages are spoken in Europe (e.g., Basque, Catalan, Welsh, Sami).
Multilingualism helps strengthen cognitive abilities, creativity, and social skills.
